Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't as good in removing debris like screws made of metal or pasta pieces. They are however amazing at sweeping dust, pet hair, and crumbs. The best models are equipped with intelligent navigation systems, which can help them avoid cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a fantastic robot vacuum that comes with a range of smart features that make it much easier to maintain than many competing models. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the best features we've ever encountered in a robotic vacuum. It works well on carpets and hard floors. It's also easy to install and use, with the app guiding you step-by-step through the process. Its ability to restart where it left off during our tests is a great feature. It was able to do this for 77 minutes on one cleaning, before the battery ran out.
Unlike some of the other robovacs we tested, the i3+ EVO has a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's filled. This reduces hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it must be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L, which is enough to last four to five cleaning sessions.
This model, like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It can also allow you to navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to utilize its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO can't.
Although the i3+ EVO is superior in picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at but it's not the best when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture as it pushed chairs away. It also caused collisions against the sides of the test bed.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your collection of robot vacuums or just starting out. It packs powerful power, advanced navigation and a user-friendly automation into a sleek design at an affordable price. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model available today and even beats some of Roborock's more expensive models in a variety of ways.
This robot is excellent in cleaning floors that are bare, and its avoidance tech assists it in staying away from furniture legs and other obstacles. It also does well on carpet and earns an excellent score in our navigation tests. It's only downside is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't do as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml. This means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. If the battery is empty it returns to its dock and automatically recharges before resuming cleaning where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advances made it perform extremely well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. It allows you to plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones, and check the battery's condition, among other things. The app is easy to use, but it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its website's footnote in early November to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
The Tapo RV30 Plus TP-Link robot vacuum cleaner is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robot that can also mop and is affordable. It has a wide array of features for the price and features a stylish design. It can be controlled using the buttons on the machine using the app, or even by using voice commands. The device is battery-powered and the vacuum container is able to automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a great job at vacuuming standard messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with a replacement sweeping brush and mopping cloth as well being an HEPA-filter. It can be combined with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide convenient voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be easily set up, and connected to different flooring surfaces using the automatic mode. This ensures the best cleaning results for every floor and room.
You can select from three cleaning options to meet your requirements. The vacuuming mode cleanses the entire room and uses the smart sensor to detect edges furniture, stairs, and other obstacles. 4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is one of best full-featured robots for hard flooring. It has a high-tech navigation system that does an outstanding job of mapping your home, even across multiple floor levels. The base station is well-designed, and automates cleaning to a large degree. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to identify your home's location, and create efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations and was good at getting around obstacles, such as furniture. It can also find its way to the base station if it runs out of batteries during an exercise of cleaning.
It also has a spot cleaning mode that allows you to clean or mop the specific part of your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a predetermined route, which is helpful in narrow staircases or hallways. It did a good job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and carpets. It can be set up to raise the mop pad when it comes into contact with carpet. This is an excellent feature for those who want to save the time of mopping their carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dustbin as well as a water tank that is empty at the conclusion of each cleaning session. The dust bin can hold up to 2.5 liters and only needs to be emptied every two cleaning cycles. smart vacuum cleaner can handle more than a dozen mopping sessions before it is empty. The iMop is easier to clean and maintain than a typical robot cleaner, which can be a major benefit for busy households.
